Question regarding changing blog’s url (5 posts)

    Dear Kristian,

Is that possible for me to change the url of the blog after I have set up the site?

It is because I wanted to change my url address after I have made couples of set-ups and I don’t want to start all over again.

    Thanks a lot!

    Hi James,
Great that you are using the new forum :-)

No, its not possible to change URL, once you have created your site. All you can do is create the new site and then export content and settings from the old site via Settings -> Tools -> Export and subsequently go to the new site and import the backup file via Settings -> Tools -> Import. This will restore your work from the old site (to some extent).

    Regards Kristian

Thanks for the reply. I have tried to export the content of the web in “Tool > Exports”, however, I cannot import that to a new webpage, it said “No importers are available.” How can I solve that?

    Hi James,

For import from another WordPress site to work, the blog needs activation of a plugin called WordPress Importer. It should be autoactivated on all of Mediajungle’s sites, but I just discovered it wasn’t. I’ve activated the plugin site wide now, and it should work for you now if you try again.

    Best regards
    Kristian

It works well, except for the widgets, but I can add it manually which is definitely manageable. Thanks a lot for the help!

    Many thanks,
    James
